The Mende Descendants Union (MDU) of Columbus, Ohio, is a community organization dedicated to preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Mende people from Sierra Leone and Liberia. Founded to connect descendants in the diaspora, we foster cultural identity, mutual support, and community engagement through events, language preservation, and traditional celebrations.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between generations, ensuring that the traditions, values, and wisdom of our ancestors continue to thrive in the modern world. We welcome all Mende descendants and their families to join our growing community.
